Wednesday’s Word

The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer (Psalm 6:9).
Do you ever consider the blessing of prayer? As a child of God, think of the privilege that you enjoy in prayer, which most of the world will never know. As a child of God, you have the ear of the one, true God. As a child of God, you have access to the One who is all-powerful, all-knowing and everpresent. As a child of God, you can freely approach the One who created all things and who sees all things from beginning to end. As a child of God, you can make requests of the One who knows your needs better than you know them yourself.
The Psalmist wrote of victory over his enemies because of God hearing his prayers. Children of God enjoy peace in their lives because of the power of prayer. Children of the world can only speak to other people whose power and abilities are so limited. The child of God is able to speak to the One who is able: He is able to hear; He is able to know; He is able to understand; He is able to love and He is able to answer. Every prayer presented by the child of God is answered by God; every prayer answered by God is answered in accordance to God’s wisdom.
This day, let us thank God for the privilege of prayer and let us fully utilize that privilege.
