He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour (Proverbs 21:21).
Do you desire life, righteousness and honor? The word translated “followeth” is defined as: to run after; to chase. To have life, righteousness and honor, we must pursue that which is right in the sight of God and we must seek and show the mercy of God.
The word “futile” appropriately describes most of the lives lived in the world today. Many who desire a life of righteousness, refuse to seek where righteousness can be found; many who desire a life of splendor, refuse to seek where true splendor can be found; many who desire to live, refuse to seek life from the giver of life.
Satan offers life, but he cannot give life; Satan offers righteousness, but he cannot provide righteousness and Satan offers honor, but he cannot provide true honor.
James wrote: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).
After whom are you following or running to obtain life; after whom are you following or running to obtain a life of righteousness and honor.Jesus promised: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7).
Put your trust and follow after the One who seeks to save the world, not the one who seeks to destroy the world.
