Wednesday’s Word

Unto thee life I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens (Psalm 123:1).
The psalmist is addressing God, the One who dwells in heaven. Through the prophet Isaiah, God declared that His thoughts and ways are above the thoughts and ways of man. God’s dwelling place and His ways are above man, thus man should lift up his eyes unto Heaven.

Man should seek to praise God, because God is worthy and man should diligently seek to serve God, because God is worthy. God is worthy and man should be honored to have the privilege of glorifying Him.Man should lift up his eyes unto Heaven, saturating  himself the precepts of God. God is the only one who is able to lead man through this life into eternal life.

Man should lift up his eyes unto Heaven, seeking the love of God. God is love and God is the only one from whom man can learn true love.

Man should lift up his eyes unto Heaven, searching for true peace. God is the god of peace and God is the only one through whom man can obtain peace.

Man should lift up his eyes unto Heaven, securing eternal joy. God is the god of joy and God is the only one who can bring true joy into our lives.

This day and every day let us lift up our eyes unto Heaven.
