Tuesday’s Time

But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell (Proverbs 9:18).

Solomon gives warnings to the wise to accept the word of God and to grow in the wisdom of God; to the foolish (ungodly) he warns against rejecting the word of God and he warns of the pitfalls in the path of unrighteousness. Solomon also gives reasons why some turn away from the counsel of God: many fail to see the true death and destruction found in sin. God offers life, while Satan can only provide death and much of the world fails to recognize this fact.

Two times, later in the book of Proverbs, Solomon will warn of the way which seemeth right to man, but the end is death (Proverbs 14:12; 16:25). Satan uses whatever means necessary to lure and trick man into believing his lies and false hopes.

Foolishly, man often accepts the lies of Satan while rejecting the eternal truths of God. God is life, Satan is not; God is truth, Satan is not; God makes way for life abundantly, Satan does not; God makes peace possible, Satan cannot; God makes eternal life available, Satan cannot; God desires to forgive sins, Satan desires all to sin; God desires all to be saved, Satan desires all to be lost.

My prayer is that we may see sin for what it is: that we can see sin in its blackness; that we can see sin in its destructive nature; that we can see sin as it brings death, sorrow and suffering. Satan is the one who brings death, pain, injury, heartache and sorrows (Romans 5:12).

Every time we go to the funeral home, know that we are there because of Satan; every time we visit the grave of our loved one, know that we are there because of Satan; every time we are at the bedside of our sick loved one, know that we are there because of Satan; every time we see another family destroyed through divorce, know that we are there because of Satan.

Every time we experience love, know that we are there because of God; every time we experience true joy, know that we are there because of God; every time we experience peace, know that we are there because of God; every time we experience hope, know that we are there because of God.

Today and everyday, let us see God and Satan for whom they are.
