Tuesday’s Time

Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the house of the Lord (Psalm 134:1).

Those who were authorized by God to serve and worship, were commanded to worship and they were directed when and where to worship. The priests were the ones directed and authorized by God to serve in the tabernacle and there were those who served in the day and others who served at night (I Chronicles 9:33).

The only ones authorized by God to serve in the tabernacle were the priests commanded and chosen by God. No one else could serve in the tabernacle and their service be accepted by God. The apostle Peter, inspired of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, wrote that Christians (members of the Lord’s church) are the priests of God (I Peter 2:9).

Thus, as under the Law of Moses and the Levitical priesthood, the priests were the only ones authorized by God to serve in the tabernacle and now, under the Law of Christ and the priesthood of Jesus Christ, Christians (today’s priest) are the only ones who may acceptably worship God.

The priests of Jesus Christ serve in the true tabernacle, the church of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 8:2).The priest of the Old Law served in the one, true tabernacle. There were many false gods and there were many false tabernacles. But, the Levitical priests could not serve other gods and could not serve the one, true God in other tabernacles.

The priests of the Law of Christ serve in the one, true tabernacle, the church of Christ. Christians, the priest of God, cannot serve other gods and cannot serve the one, true God in other tabernacles (churches).

As priests in the one true tabernacle,  let us serve the one true God, night and day.
