Tuesday’s Time

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust (Psalm 91:2).
Do you make the same declaration, as did the psalmist? Do you recognize God as Lord? The word translated “God” is not specifically dedicated to the one, true God; it is a word which may be used of false gods or magistrates. The word translated “Lord” is often used as a qualifier with the word God. It is defined as: the self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah. Thus, the psalmist is speaking to the self- Existent God, Jehovah God.
Do you know Jehovah God? Are you a child of Jehovah God? The word “Lord” (Jehovah) defines God as the self-existent one and also speaks of the redemption by God. One would think, with this understanding, that God and God alone would be our refuge, fortress and the One in whom we trust. God is to be our shelter; the origin and source of our hope. God is to be our defense; the origin and source of our strength. Because God is the origin and source of our hope and strength we can live life with confidence, because our confidence is in God.
We must not put our trust in things which are temporary; we must not put our trust in things of this world. Our trust must be founded in the God who is eternal; our trust must be in God who is all-powerful; we must put our trust in God who is all-knowing.
Let our declaration be: God is my refuge; God is my fortress and in God do I trust.
