The Storms of Life

And he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still.  And the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39).

Last night storms rolled through our area and in the last few days many people have lost their lives in neighboring states.  Perhaps these storms in the weather remind us of the storms that everyone faces in their lives.  There are storms which work their way into everyone’s lives but not everyone faces them the same way.

The account recorded by Mark in Mark 4:37 reports that the boat in Christ and his apostles sailed was full of water.  There is no problem when the ship is in the water but when the water is in the ship their is danger.  Many look at their lives and think that their boat is full of water and it maybe but we must ensure that we have the same passenger as did the apostles.

Jesus Christ was the one who was able to calm the sea and Jesus Christ was the only one capable of calming the sea.  Jesus is the only one who can calm the storms in our lives and He is the one to whom we must turn to have this peace.

We must make sure that Christ is in our lives, as He was in the boat, so that He will be able to bring peace into our lives during stormy times.
