The Pleasing Son

And lo a voice from heaven , saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

One of the greatest joys in life for a child is for the parent of a child to show pleasure in that child.  God the Father said that He was pleased with God the Son.  The Father was pleased because of the life the Son was living.  The Father was pleased because of the example being set by the Son.  The Father was pleased because the Son was obedient.

Of all those whom we could please our greatest desire must be to please the Father in Heaven.  There are many accolades and wonderful words which may be said about us.  The words that we should desire to hear the most will be: “well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21, 23)

If we desire to hear the same words from the Father said of the Son then we must live accordance to the example set by the Son.

Let us grow as Jesus grew: And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52).

Let us teach as Jesus taught: He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak (John 12:48-49).

Let us walk as Jesus walked: I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do (John 17:4).

If we do these things then we can live where Jesus lives: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16-17).
