OPEN HOUSE

You are invited to the open house at the home of Tim and Flora Hayes. The open house is this Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm and refreshments will be served. You are always welcomed at our home but this is a special occasion, during the holiday season, when we attempt to have everyone visit. You will honor us by your presence and strengthen us by your fellowship; please come.

This will be the sixth Christmas wherein Flora and I have been a part of the Logan Martin family. We are honored to be a part of this good and faithful congregation and are encouraged by the good works taking place. Our prayers for you and your families are that we will all love God, one another and the lost as we continue the work of the Lord.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).

The invitation of Jesus to the House of God is always open. The invitation of Jesus to the House of God is always open to everyone. The invitation of Jesus to the House of God is always open to everyone as long as time stands.

There is no greater invitation than the invitation presented by Jesus. To accept the invitation offered by Jesus is to accept the salvation of the soul. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We may offer visitors many things in our homes but we cannot offer salvation of the soul.

To accept the invitation offered by Jesus is to accept the peace available only through Jesus.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We may offer shelter from wind and rain but Christ offers peace in the storms of life.

To accept the invitation offered by Jesus is to accept the abundant life and the eternal life. Let us enjoy the hospitality of each other in this life and the hospitality of God in the life to come.

                                                                                         Tim
