Monday’s Moment

That men may know that thou, whose name is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth (Psalm 83:18).
The psalmist desired God to make HImself known, unto His enemies, through His power. The world often recognizes many gods, while failing to recognize the one true God. The word translated “Jehovah”, is the name of God which proclaims His being self-existent and the provider of redemption. No false god is able to fill either of these qualities or characteristics. No false god can redeem any one from any sin; no false god is self-existent.
Jehovah has no beginning and He has no end. Every false god has a beginning and he has an end. Man, while following Satan, is the beginning of every false god and as man has an end, so too does every false god. Satan is not an eternal being; Satan is not God; therefore, Satan has a beginning and an end. Every false god created by Satan has a beginning and an end.
Jehovah is the only self-existent (eternal) being; Jehovan is the only omnipotent being and Jehovah is the only omniscient being. Jehovah God has shown Himself throughout history, through judgments against nations and people (i.e. Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Israel, Judah, Edom, Rome, etc.). Rahab declared their fear, because of their knowledge of what God had done to the other nations.
The phrase “the fear of the Lord” is often recorded throughout the word of God. The word translated “fear” presents the idea of: reverence and dread. God proclaims that having this “fear” is: the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10); the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7); a fountain of life (Proverbs 14:27); and the first century church multiplied while “walking in the fear of the Lord” (Acts 9:31).
Let us live faithfully unto Jehovah and let us show Jehovah to the world.
