Monday’s Moment

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands (Psalm 66:1).
Why? Why should we be concerned with making a joyful noise unto God? Because, He is worthy; God is worthy. The prayer which is often taught to little children states: God is great; God is good. These declarations are simple but so complex. God is not “one” of the greats, He is the greatest. He is the One who is all-powerful; He is the One who is all-knowing; He is the One who is ever-present; He is God. God is God and no one else is. In describing Himself, God said, “there is none else” (Isaiah 45:5).
Moses recorded that God formed man, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Paul stated that it is God in whom we live, move and have our very being (Acts 17:28). Without God we would not exist; without God we would not have life. God gives us life in this world and God gives us the opportunity of life throughout eternity. Therefore, God is worthy of our praise and adoration.
When John was given that vision of the throne room of God, he saw a spectacular sight. In this vision John saw one seated upon the throne and those all about the throne gave praise and honor to the one on the throne. The one on the throne received praise and honor because He is worthy. The One on the throne is the one true God and Father. God is worthy because of His being God; God is worthy because of what He has done; God is worthy because of what He is doing and God is worthy because of what He will do.
This day and everyday: make a joyful noise unto God.
