Monday’s Moment

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord (Psalm 27:14).
On whom do you depend? On whom do you rely? What is the origin of the strength in your life? The Psalmist declared God as his: light, salvation, shield and buckler. The strength to face and overcome the trials of life, has its origin in God. The shelter in the storms of life, is God. Strength and comfort fail when we seek a source other than God. Satan portrays himself as the ultimate solace but his claim is a rouge. God sees from beginning to end, not just our lives, but eternity. God sees our lives, all the lives before and all the lives after. God is the one and the only one who is able to supply every need in our lives.
As children of God, we may not know every step of the way, but we can know the One with whom we travel and we can know the point of destination. Heaven is our home and Jesus Christ is our way home. Therefore, knowing God, we wait on the Lord. We wait on the Lord, because He is our hope; we wait on the Lord, because He is our joy; we wait on the Lord, because He is our salvation; we wait on the Lord, because He is our life; we wait on the Lord, because of His faithfulness and we wait on the Lord, because He has proven himself.
Let us realize that without God, we would not exist. We need God every second of every day and we have God in our lives every second of every day or else we fail. We may think we only need God in times of trials, but it is during these times when we realize the necessity for God to control our lives.
As we face this new week, let us thank God for His presence in our lives; let us thank God for His strength and love and let us thank God for His wonderful assurance.
