Monday’s Moment

Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us (Psalm 12:4)?
The children of men (those who follow the ways of man) and the children of God (those who follow the ways of God) are contrasted. Those who follow after man (Satan) look upon themselves as ruler of their own domain; some would suggest they answer to no one. Some then and now believe themselves to be god: they know what is best; they have all the answers; they can do no wrong; they have all knowledge; they will live forever; they are wiser than any and all others and they will be held accountable by none.
Those about whom the Psalmist wrote, now know they were wrong; those about whom the Psalmist wrote, now find themselves in the place where the rich man opened his eyes being in torments; those about whom the Psalmist wrote, now know they are not God; those about whom the Psalmist wrote, now know that all answer to God.
We, who are on this side of the grave, must hear and heed the warnings of God. Let us realize that God has given us the use of our tongues for His glory; let us realize that God has given us the use of our tongues for His praise; let us realize that God has given us the use of our tongues to proclaim His word; let us realize that God has given us the use of our tongues to tell others of His hope; let us realize that God has given us the use of our tongues to tell others of His love.
