Monday’s Moment

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people (Psalm 3:8).
The psalmist spoke of how his enemies increased and how they claimed God would not, perhaps could not, help him. If God cannot help, who can? If God does not have the power to overcome the ungodly, who can? If God is not mighty enough to defeat Satan, who can? These are questions, the enemies of God desire to place in the minds of the godly. Satan does not have to hear the godly denounce God, if he can just place doubt into their hearts and minds. But, rather than manifesting doubt in the psalmist, there was a determination produced.
The psalmist realized and stated that there is salvation available and that salvation is provided by God. He stated that God is his shield and the One who lifts up his head. God is our protector. He protects all who are with Him and He protects us from the powers of Satan. However Satan may attack the godly, God is able to protect them. God is the protector of the godly when Satan attacks through thoughts, words, deeds, people or any other means.
God is not only our protector, but He is also the One who is able to lift us up when we are down. God can lift us up when we are in the pits of despair; God can lift us up when we are in the mire of sin; God can lift us up when we are covered in sorrow; God can lift us up when we face the trials of temptation. God is able.
Let us determine to never give ear to the thoughts and words of Satan, but let us diligently hold to the blessed assurance of our Father in Heaven. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon they people.
