Thursday’s Thought

Let us break their bands asunder and cast away their cords from us (Psalms 2:3).
It is never a good thing when man decides to separate himself from God; it is never a good thing when man decides to separate himself from the word of God; it is never a good ting when man chooses to heed the counsel of man while rejecting the counsel of God.
Our hearts ache because of the wickedness in the world; we find ourselves confused at the senseless violence in society and ask the question, Why? Why is the news filled with ungodly actions; why is each hour of each day tarnished with unthinkable crimes? The Psalmist asked in verse one: why do the heathen rage? Verse two begins the answer to the question: the rulers chose to guide themselves and chose to act in opposition to God.
God is the only true moral guide; God is the only true standard or right and wrong; God is the only true rule of justice. Thus, when man leaves God; when man rejects God; when man sides against God: there is no guide, there is no standard, there is no rule.
“Anarchy” is defined: state of being without rule; political confusion. This describes the world in which we live. A world which has chosen to reject the one true standard and now stumbles blindly, seeking light in absolute darkness. The One rejected by the world is the Light; the One rejected by the world is the Hope; the One rejected by the world is the Peace. Those who choose to reject Jesus and His word of life, choose to follow Satan and his word of death. The only way to get the world out of anarchy is to bring them to the law of Christ. Let us show the world, through our lives, the difference in living for the Savior and not for Satan.
