Wednesday’s Word

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee and declare thou unto me (Job 40:7).
God challenged Job to be God. Job said that he would cover his mouth and speak no more because he realized his error. But, in response to Job, God said it was too late; then He challenged Job.
Where are our thoughts; where are our words? Do we speak before we taste our words; do we harbor thoughts which do not belong in one who follows God? In a lack of understanding, wisdom and knowledge do we place the fault at the feet of God?
There are some basic, fundamental facts which each should hold and which cannot be shaken:
1. There is one God
2. God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent (man is not)
3. God is eternal (man is not)
4. God loves man
5. Man is not God
When we realize these foundational facts we begin to understand our relationship with God.
