Monday’s Moment

Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge (Job 38:2)?
Job and his four associates had each spoken, but now God spoke. God questioned the wisdom by which Job had spoken. He basically asked Job if he were God. God is the only all knowing being; man, in comparison, is very limited. God has told man that the thoughts and ways of man are not the thoughts and ways of God. God sees everything from beginning to end; man sees in a very limited area. God knows all, from beginning to end; man knowledge is a very limited perimeter.
There may be a number of occasions in which man does not understand what God has done or what God has allowed. Does the lack of man’s understanding make God any less God? Does the lack of man’s understanding make God any less powerful? Does the lack of man’s understanding make God any less all knowing? Does the lack of man’s understanding make God any less merciful? Does the lack of man’s understanding make God any less loving?
The answer to each of the questions is, No. God is God: yesterday, today and tomorrow. God is, always has been and always will be, the God of hope, peace, mercy and love. Man’s understanding does not change what God is or what God is not. There may be and there are things we do not understand, but we must understand that God is God and will never change; God is God and He desires that which is best for all mankind.
So, whatever the day may bring: God loves us and God wants us to live with Him eternally. Let us thank God for His love, mercy and grace; let us live as though we love God.
